Shailene and Laura at Elle's "Women in Hollywood" Event

It was a TFIOS reunion at the Elle Women in Hollywood event. 

Laura Dern, who plays Hazel's mom Frannie, presented Shailene with Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award. According to Elle.com, Shailene was impressed with her Calvin Klein dress.

 "All of the threads on my [Calvin Klein] dress are hand sewn. I don't know if that impresses you, but it f*cking impresses me," she said.

The Hollywood Reporter said Shailene encouraged everyone to “close their eyes and imagine of all the women encountered in life – including the good and bad.”

“Become pregnant with them,” she said. “Nurture this, and then send warmth to every woman on the planet. We are able to raise a baby, and in the same sense we are able to raise the world.”

Laura Dern advocates for childhood cancer

On Saturday, Laura Dern attended the annual L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade charity event, which raised more than $500,000 for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Laura will play Hazel Grace's mother, Frannie, in TFIOS. She is a strong supporter of Alex's Lemonade, a nonprofit organization that raises money and awareness of childhood cancer. Alex's Lemonade give most of their donations to childhood cancer research for new treatment and cures.

Laura has been an advocate for childhood cancer for a long time. She got involved with Alex's Lemonade after her son told her about the organization in the third grade. They were awestruck by the fact that it was created by 4-year-old Alex, who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

It is great that a strong advocate of childhood cancer is involved in TFIOS.

Casting Update: Nat Wolff as Isaac - Laura Dern as Hazel's mother

After Nat Wolff himself hinted so in a previous interview with MTV, it's now for sure that he's been cast as Isaac. Also, Laura Dern has joined the cast as Hazel's mother - exciting!

Here's what Hypable reports:

"Actor Nat Wolff and actress Laura Dern are joining The Fault in Our Stars movie based on the book by John Green.

Wolff will play Isaac, Augustus’ best friend. The actor had hinted at his involvement with the film several weeks ago. He is no stranger to working with director Josh Boone; he starred in his first movie Stuck in Love which hit theaters last month. Wolff had originally auditioned to play Gus..

Dern will play Hazel’s mother. The actress most recently starred in HBO’s Enlightened, which we were sorry to see get canceled after season 2."
