Casting Update: Nat Wolff as Isaac - Laura Dern as Hazel's mother

After Nat Wolff himself hinted so in a previous interview with MTV, it's now for sure that he's been cast as Isaac. Also, Laura Dern has joined the cast as Hazel's mother - exciting!
Here's what Hypable reports:
"Actor Nat Wolff and actress Laura Dern are joining The Fault in Our Stars movie based on the book by John Green.
Wolff will play Isaac, Augustus’ best friend. The actor had hinted at his involvement with the film several weeks ago. He is no stranger to working with director Josh Boone; he starred in his first movie Stuck in Love which hit theaters last month. Wolff had originally auditioned to play Gus..
Dern will play Hazel’s mother. The actress most recently starred in HBO’s Enlightened, which we were sorry to see get canceled after season 2."

Josh Boone reveals that Isaac & one other character has almost been cast

A blogger for PageToPremiere recently met Josh Boone, director of the movie, at a screening for his first movie "Stuck in Love" and tried to find out some things about TFIOS. This is what he had to say:

I tried to pry a little more information from Boone, but he could not say much for legal reasons. The biggest hint he dropped was mentioning they are close to casting the role of Isaac and another character. Boone spoke highly of author John Green, who he speaks to frequently about the movie’s progress. He also mentioned they want to involve the Green as much as possible, but he is not an overbearing presence in the process. Boone also praised the screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who co-wrote (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now, and Nat Wolff agreed TFIOS script is great.

Sounds exciting! Also we're very glad John Green is very involved in the making of the movie.
We'll see who it will be. Just last week Nat Wolff hinted that he may be in negotiations for the role of Isaac.

Will Nat Wolff be our Isaac?

He hints so in an interview to MTV, where he also talks about his latest movie "Stuck in Love" (directed by Josh Boone).

“It was really great. The script is really great,” Nat said of auditioning for the lead role. “Josh Boone, who did ‘Stuck in Love,’ is directing the movie,I think I might—it’s still in negotiations—but I might be playing another role in the movie. [We're] still figuring it out.I’d love to be a part of it, just to work with Josh, and it’s a cool story.”

Personally, we think he'd be pretty perfect for the role.
