Meanwhile, I am getting an enormous kick out of reading the accounts of the Strauss-Kahn affair in Liberation. Even though Liberation is a socialist newspaper, they know a good story when they see one, and each day eight or ten reporters write columns on every conceivable aspect of the sad tale. My favorite this morning was a little sidebar about Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It seems that this is a popular "procedural" on French television [suitably dubbed, of course], and the handing over of Strauss-Kahn to the real Special Victims Unit was too good to pass over. I have not read such purple prose since the Clinton-Monica Lewinsky thing. It is doing wonders for my French.
